The BSU ART 342 New Media: Installations & Public Art class ART 353 Photojournalism class and UMD Intro To Art Education Class has historically participated in at least one collaborative community art project during the semester. This semester we participated in the NextNOW Fest at the Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and an Arts Education Class from the UMD campus. 

 

Our prompt for the festival was "Snapshots of Our New Normal , Uniting as a Global Family to create a better world for tomorrow. Students were given a variety of  material and were able to create art using postcards that they felt like represented the prompt. When completed their postcards, students took pictures of their postcards and emailed them to us and they were then incorporated into live collage banners. We created multiple live banner in a room next to where students and community were creating their art. We also filmed behind the scenes and interview students, staff and even people from our team asking them about their experience. All of these things were compiled into a documentary
